Em entrevista ao jornal ‘Metro’, Desmond afirma que usa roupas femininas desde pequeno, e que ganhou seu primeiro vestido aos seis anos. “Quando eu tinha dois anos de idade, eu costumava usar os saltos da minha mãe, lençóis de cama, toalhas ou até mesmo papelão para fazer vestidos de mentirinha”, conta.

Desmond defende os direitos LGBTQs e tem um coletivo, chamado ‘Haus of Amazing’, para crianças drag com a intenção de prevenir o bullying e o suicídio. “As pessoas têm o direito de dançar, cantar ou se vestir do jeito que quiser. Você pode se expressar como quiser. Não importa se você gosta de jazz ou rap, balé, dança de salão, vestidos ou ternos”, afirma ele em seu site.
